Grand Dance Drama Kung Fu Artistry - Bruce Lee's No Way as Way by Hong Kong Dance Company

Yang Yuntao, a graduate of Minzu University of China's Dance Faculty, joined Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDance) in 2002 as Principal Dancer and has served as Artistic Director since 2013. His award-winning choreography includes Spring Ritual·Eulogy, The Legend of Mulan, Storm Clouds, L'Amour Immortel, and Convergence, with works presented internationally in cities like New York, London, Beijing, and Sydney. His excerpt Whispers of the Pines won China's prestigious Lotus Awards in 2023. Yang has received multiple Hong Kong Dance Awards, Best Artist (Dance) at the 2009 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards, and the Medal of Honour in 2023 for his contributions to Chinese dance and talent development. Yang was honoured with the Distinguished Achievement Award at the Hong Kong Dance Awards 2026.

Man Lim-chung has been active in the film industry since he graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a bachelor's degree in graphic design in 1991. He served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Film Arts Association from 2021 to 2025. A highly regarded production designer and art director, Man won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Art Direction and Best Costume & Makeup Design for works such as Tempting Heart (1999), Our Time Will Come (2017), The Golden Era (2014), and Project Gutenberg (2018). He also received multiple Asian Film Awards for Best Costume Design and Golden Horse Award nominations.

Keep Rolling (2020), his directorial debut, opened both the 44^th Hong Kong International Film Festival and the 16^th Osaka Asian Film Festival. In 2021, he held his first photography exhibition titled [Side] at SoHo Friends Studio. In 2023, he served as co-curator for Out of Thin Air: Hong Kong Film Arts & Costumes Exhibition.

Patrick Lui is an award-winning pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. He has received the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award (Jazz Composition), won the Taichung Jazz Festival Piano Competition, and was a semi-finalist at the Bucharest International Jazz Competition. His jazz orchestra piece, Mirror Dance, became the first jazz composition nominated for 'Best Serious Composition' at the CASH Golden Sail Music Awards.

He has appeared at major festivals including JENerations Jazz Festival (USA), EUROPAfest, Takatsuki Jazz Street Jazz Festival, Kanazawa Street Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, Clockenflap among others. His work as a co-producer with pop group RubberBand over the years has garnered them the prestigious 'Album of The Year', 'Song of The Year' awards, by Commercial Radio Hong Kong, and the 'Best Song' award at the CASH Golden Sail Music Awards.

Lui has contributed to the score for three feature films - The Bounty, This Is Not What I Expected, and Chasing The Dragon. Patrick's debut big band album, Sonder (2020), was recorded at New York's renowned Systems Two Recording Studio and distributed by Sony Msic.

Playwright, dramaturg and director; founder of Theatre Invert. His plays Blast (2013) and The Red Chamber in the Forest Sea (2014) were produced by the Hong Kong Arts Festival and both sold out; Pride, produced by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, received the IATC(HK) Critics Awards 2019 - Script/Playwright of the Year. Trained at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (MFA in Drama, with Distinction), majoring in Playwriting under Poon Wai Sum.

Wang served as a resident artist in New York; in 2015 he received a full fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council, and was invited to Yale University for exchange. In 2016, his play Stranger was produced by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre; in 2017 he joined the British Council×Royal Court Theatre New Writing Scheme and created/directed Game Boy, later selected as a Special Invited Programme at the 8^th Wuzhen Theatre Festival.

In 2025, Wang wrote the large-scale period drama Tea-horse Road·Ballad of the Fallen Dragon, produced by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Hong Kong Member Association.

His dramaturgy/ text credits include: Hong Kong Dance Company's The Legend of Lanling, The Kids in Rainbow Jerseys, A Sea of Smiling LT Ducks, Saturday Whispers, Dim Sum Adventures @ Lung Fung Teahouse; Hong Kong Arts Festival's Crime and Punishment; Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre's Journey to the West (winner of Best Innovative Production at the Chinese Theatre Awards and the One Drama Awards).

Dr. Lewis Luk is a distinguished Hong Kong martial artist and legal professional who began his martial arts journey in 1974, deeply inspired by Bruce Lee. His primary martial art is Wing Chun, and he was certified as an instructor by two legendary Grandmasters: Wong Shun Leung and Ip Ching, both direct disciples of Ip Man. He served as Chairman of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong from 2004 to 2006, and is currently Supervisor and Advisor of the association.

In 1997, Dr. Luk began studying Jeet Kune Do under Ted Wong, Bruce Lee's senior student, and was certified as a Jeet Kune Do instructor in 2000. He established the first Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do (Hong Kong) with official approval from Linda Lee.

Dr. Luk also holds the Chinese Wushu Association's Eighth Duan and has played a key role in martial arts education, serving as Vice President of the Hong Kong, China Wushu Union and supporting international and local martial arts development.

His lifelong dedication has made him a respected leader and ambassador for both Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do in Hong Kong and abroad.

Jan Wong specialises in set and costume design, with recent theatrical credits including: We Are Gay; The Top Restaurant; Show Me Your Love; Le Fils and The Play That Goes Wrong.

Wong's musical and operatic works include: Hercules at the Crossroads; Another 18 Ways to Create or Mute Sound; Love Streams; HKT x WESTK POPFEST: I Am What I Am - A Tribute to Leslie Cheung.

His dance work includes: Waiting Heart; Nezha: Untold Solitude; Living Up to Death and STORM CLOUDS – An Immersive Journey: HK Classic Comics ✕ Dance ✕ Arts Tech.

In recent years, Wong has been actively involved in spatial planning for large-scale exhibitions and opening programmes, collaborating with organisations such as HKLSS, CHUBB, and HSBC.

Wong has received set design awards for The Island Whispers…; Reveries of the Red Chamber; Hu Xueyan, My Dear (2018); Nezha: Untold Solitude; and Man of La Mancha. In 2024, Wong won the Best Image Design at the Hong Kong Drama Awards for Scapin in Jiānghú, Chap.2023. In 2025, he received the Award for Young Artist (Drama) at the 19^th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

With experience in lighting design for over 200 productions over 27 years, Ryou's work spans opera, changgeuk, theatre, contemporary dance, traditional dance, and ballet. She was the project leader for lighting design for the Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympics Winter Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies in 2018. She was responsible for the lighting design for1945 (Korea National Opera) , the National Changgeuk Company's Gwito: The Eight Sufferings of the Rabbit, as part of the reopening celebration of the National Theatre of Korea's Haeoreum Grand Theater, Ongnyeo in celebration of the 130^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, and The Orphan of Zhao: Seeds of Revenge for the National Theatre of Korea at the Beijing National Theatre. Her lighting design for Bul-Ssang with the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company contributed to the production's international tour, which included performances in Berlin, Malta, Florence, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Moscow.

Recently, she has expanded her work beyond Korean productions touring internationally to actively participate in global collaborative projects. In November 2024, as part of the 10^th Anniversary Special Programme of Korea Dance Abroad, Ryou Back-hee was in charge of lighting design for Struggle, a collaborative production between the European contemporary circus company Petri Dish and the Korean dance company JUBIN Company. Additionally, starting with the 2022 HKDance's production Myth of the Dancing Durumi, she also worked on the 2025 Hong Kong and Korea tour performances of A Dance of Celestial Rhythms.

Yung graduated from the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Lighting Design, and from HKU SPACE Community College, majoring in Media and Creative Studies in early years.

His recent theatre lighting design works include Reaction: Arts Voyager Improvisation Showcase (Passoverdance), A Human Concerto (Gaybird), Roots Hanging (On & On Theatre Workshop), Live．Earth．Space (NVAF), 18 Ways to Create or Mute Sound (EKCC) and A Thousand Plateaus (Freespace, WestK). Associate lighting design works include TONE Music Festival 2022 and UNISON FEST 2021.

Yung also works as lighting and video programmer for Freespace Jazz Fest (WestK), Keep Breathing at Zero (EKCC), Rose of Nightingale (HKRep), Myth of the Dancing Durumi (HKDance), Bye-Bye Your Tale (Windmill Grass Theatre) and Stay/Away (Hook Dance Theatre).

Martin Lai graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Sound Design and Music Recording.

In 2010, he worked as Sound Mixing Engineer for a sound radio drama The Curse, and won the awards of New York Festivals Awards 2011 - Craft and Technique (Best Editing). In 2016, he was awarded the Best Sound Design by the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies. He is a member of Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong and an active Sound Designer and Music Composer for various performing arts.

Lai established Marsical Label to provide quality services of sound, music and video productions since 2005. He is also a part-time tutor at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Henry Lam is a creator across multiple disciplines, including visual art, show/theatre design, experience and interactive creations. Having vast creative experience in the multimedia field and employing latest XR technologies, Lam's artworks often question memories and culture in a meta-state of our world, where individual experience is increasingly amalgamated into social consciousness.

As one of the founding members of arts group XRT (Extended Reality Art), Lam's creation focuses on exploring the linkage between collective memories and physical space, through extensive study of locales and disappearing architecture.

His major works include: I AM/WERE HERE/THERE #1 & 2, which exhibited in the Microwave International New Media Arts Festival 2018, ISEA2019: International Symposium on Electronic Art in Gwangju, and COMO & HAPPY SCREEN 2019 in Seoul; Mountain and Water at DesignInspire 2019; Project Art Gentle Smoke of Tea (2024) at the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware; Interactive Experience: Around the Corner (2024) at East Kowloon Cultural Centre; and Around the Corner (2025) at DIG SHIBUYA 2025 in Tokyo.
